Signature Sleep Memory Foam Mattress Review

When writing our Signature Sleep memory foam mattress review I debated about writing about this particular bed since we only use them (we own two) once or twice a month for a couple days. But, we’ve had them for a while and we are familiar with them, so after some thought I decided to include the Signature Sleep 10 Inch Memory Foam Bed in my memory foam mattress reviews.

Signature Sleep Memory Foam Mattress Review – Full Size Mattress

My wife and I own a nice cottage a few hours away from our home. It’s a year round place and a great getaway. Of course it was just a few years after we bought our first memory foam bed for our primary residence that we had to buy memory foam beds to replace the crummy spring mattresses at the cottage. It was hard going away to our quaint little vacation home and not getting a good night sleep like we were getting back home.

We almost bought two smaller Zinus foam beds (full size) for the cottage, but decided to give another manufacturer a chance and test them out. Signature Sleep is probably a direct competitor of Zinus, and they too make great beds and had good customer reviews.

The beds we bought from Signature Sleep back in 2013 appear to still be the same model that is available now.

  • Mattress weight: 35 lbs
  • Warranty: Only one year limited (check with manufacturer for specifics)
  • Return Policy: 30 day return policy
  • Break in time: Up to ten days

Layers Of Foam

In writing this Signature sleep memory foam mattress review, it is important to point out that this bed only has two layers of foam. I’ll comment more on this further below.

  • 2 inch top layout memory foam
  • 7 inch layer of high-density foam

Signature Sleep Memory Foam Mattress Review – Personal Use And Thoughts

As mentioned we bought two of these full size beds for our vacation cottage and as such they do not get slept in as much as our primary bed. One thing my wife and I both noticed is that this Signature Sleep model does feel warmer than our other beds. It may be because of the density of the foam and construction. We thought it might have been because there are only two layers of foam and that might reduce airflow. We adjust our comforters and nightly thermostat to work with this bed. In the summer we usually turn on our ceiling fan as well. Is it uncomfortable to sleep in because of the warmth? No, not at all. But we find that we need to make adjustment to make sure we sleep well.

Even with that said these beds are very comfortable. To me this bed feels a bit firmer than the Zinus bed mentioned above, which I like. It cradles and conforms beautifully, but is just a touch more firm. My wife likes a softer bed, so she prefers the Zinus and the bed we are reviewing below.

I did notice that this bed also has better edge support then the Zinus. But it doesn’t really matter to me, as I don’t go sitting on the edge of my bed for long periods of time. Sometimes when dressing or messing around with stuff on the nightstand, but that’s about it. Laying near the edge is not a factor.

We both use our own mattresses when at the cottage, so it’s hard to comment on motion isolation and worrying about affecting somebody else’s sleep. But I am positive it wouldn’t be a factor with this bed.

Both of our beds have held up incredibly well. We did have some concern about buying a memory foam bed with such a short one year warranty, but the price was great and we knew they were not going to get routinely used.

We now sleep just as well at our cottage as we do at home!

Since we usually check, we found that the Better Business Bureau does not have a rating for this company or its parent company (Dorel) that we could find.

Just like with the Zinus review above, my wife and I relied heavily on what other consumers were saying before deciding to make a purchase. This particular bed has been available for more than a few years and has racked up many reviews by consumers like you and me. There is nothing like getting a good nights rest because our mood and our mindset can and do be effected by the amount of sleep that we get each night and that is where this mattress comes into the picture.
This mattress seems to be very effective in what it can do to help persons to get a good night rest. thanks for sharing

The illustrative explanation of the 3 zones of relieving comfort on the home page is nice. Further, the description of the 3 layers of memory foam mattress is great information. The comfort of memory layer takes care of ‘for every action there is an equal and opposite action’ by not absorbing the downward pressure of the body and not stressing the joints by an upward pressure that a spring mattress would have caused. The aspect that it helps in reducing snoring and sleep apnea among other benefits is really music to ears. The health benefits of green tea even in mattresses, wow. A great website. Good to go.

I’m glad your reviewed this bed. I’ve been considering buying one for a while and have been holding back since I have another brand I’ve been considering as well. It’s nice to know it sleeps well and that its firm. I like a firm over a really soft bed. A warm bed is going to make me think again. What about a sleep number bed compared to this one?

      Hi Janie,

Thanks for reading.  As far as the sleep number beds go I am not able to provide you with any information.  I only provide reviews and suggestions on beds that I have purchased and own between by house and cottage.  A lot of sites out there that provide ‘reviews’ on beds try to cover as many beds as they can, but most of those sites and the people that write the reviews have never slept or used the beds they recommend for any duration of time if at all.  I only provide information on beds I own…  trying to break the mold and be different from the other mattress sites.

Is there something like hard memory foam and soft memory foam ?

In India, some companies are offering both sides usable memory foam mattresses which they say,one side soft sided and other side hard sided..

You can flip your memory foam mattress and sleep on the base support layer, which will be much more firm than sleeping on the top layer. It’s not really a feature that manufacturers promote… but can you do that, yes.
